Another 5,000 events in the database

Long week… no time.

Social media is like a full time job.  I don’t mean that in the sense that it takes all my hours from 9 to 5, but that social media is a specialised role that takes a special sort of personality and dedication that I had not appreciated until I tried to do it in my spare time and convince others to do the same – sort of a juggling act where the point is for everyone else to look and assess your performance.  So our marketing efforts have been falling behind a bit… but soon to pick up again.

We are going to work up the Viva Ambassador guide this weekend if we have time.  The key qualification is “if we have time”.  The Android version is a few days away from launch.  Almost all the bugs have been fixed, and we are just waiting for the database to be updated.  That is our priority this weekend.

The good news is that we have added about another 5,000 events into the database – but in the wrong format – so this weekend is going to be about aligning the formats of the separate spreadsheets into the one, and hoping the developers can re-code the inputs quickly enough so that the launch version pulls information from the right database.

I am the data monkey.

Meanwhile, this week, we say a fond farewell to our friend Dolapo!
