Syed, Ejaz and Hassan (our development team) have been working hard on implementing VIVA’s new guest experience. We had been planning it for about a month, and we are so close now.
We learnt within two weeks into our marketing exercise that we faced a fundamental problem in the market – trust. People didn’t trust the quality of what VIVA does or our motivations, and so we found about 80% to 90% of people who downloaded VIVA did not end up creating an account.
It was a little disheartening to learn that, but we understood. No one wants to sign-up to apps or websites – “just give me what I want and leave me alone”. VIVA’s attempt at personalising each user’s experience actually got in the way of people wanting to use VIVA.
This is why we are changing it.
We wanted to implement the quickest solution that could give people the maximum amount of information with the least number of questions… because we believe in VIVA, and we believe it is going to be amazing.
The new version is about one week away. We are so close now. I feel a little bit like what Jim Carrey says at the end of I Needed Color, “The bottomline with all of this, whether it is performance, or it’s art, or it’s sculpture, is love. We want to show ourselves and have that be accepted.“
